The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has officially initiated the bidding process for a new team, marking the expansion of the T20 Mumbai League into a nine-team competition. This upcoming franchise is slated to represent the Navi Mumbai region, a move designed to broaden the league’s footprint and offer more opportunities for local talent following the conclusion of a successful fourth season this past June.
In a formal statement, the MCA highlighted the league’s growth, noting that the most recent season featured highly competitive matches and significant fan engagement, which solidified its status as a premier franchise-based domestic T20 tournament in India.
Prospective bidders can collect the necessary documentation from the MCA office located at the Cricket Centre, Wankhede Stadium, Churchgate, Mumbai. The documents will be available for pickup between August 10 and August 25, 2026, during the hours of 11 am to 6 pm.
