Bangladesh cricket allrounder Mohammad Saifuddin has been ruled out of the 20th Asian Games following a right hamstring injury. The setback occurred during a practice session on September 19, where the player reported pain while bowling. Subsequent physical examinations and an MRI scan confirmed the severity of the injury.

National team physiotherapist Bayjedul Islam Khan stated that the player will require approximately three weeks of rehabilitation to recover. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has already notified the Bangladesh Olympic Association regarding the situation and is currently working to finalize a replacement, which remains subject to approval by the Games authorities.

Saifuddin enters this layoff after competing in an A series against South Africa, which included one unofficial Test and two one-day matches. His most recent national team appearance was during the July tour of Zimbabwe. Bangladesh is scheduled to participate in the fourth quarter-finals of the Asian Games on September 29.
