The opening one-day international between India and Sri Lanka faces relocation away from the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The Delhi and District Cricket Association has formally urged the Board of Control for Cricket in India to move the fixture currently slated for December 13. The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has requested the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to shift the December 13 game out of the national capital. Including the pollution levels in Delhi at this time of the year, the association is believed to have cited multiple reasons for the request.
Reports indicate that the cricket body communicated its inability to host the match on the assigned date due to seasonal pollution levels in the capital alongside ongoing infrastructure upgrades at the venue.
