The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed on Wednesday, September 16, that the men’s national cricket team is scheduled to tour Nepal in March 2027. The tour will feature a three-match T20I series hosted in Kathmandu, with games slated for March 26, 28, and 30.
This announcement follows an invitation from the Nepal Cricket Association and subsequent diplomatic discussions. Nepal’s Ambassador to Bangladesh, Ghanshyam Bhandari, met with BCB President Tamim Iqbal on Wednesday to finalize plans for the series and discuss broader bilateral cricketing cooperation. These talks were initiated following an earlier meeting between Bhandari and State Minister for the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Md Aminul Haque.
The BCB stated that the upcoming matches are dedicated to honoring those who lost their lives in the recent devastating floods in Nepal. “The three matches will provide an opportunity for Bangladesh and Nepal to come together through cricket and convey a message of friendship and solidarity at a time of great loss,” the board noted in an official statement.
Beyond the T20I series, the BCB has pledged ongoing support to the Nepal Cricket Association to assist in the long-term development of the sport. Future collaboration is set to encompass a range of initiatives, including men’s and women’s bilateral tours, technical support, training programs, and High Performance development projects designed to benefit players and staff from both nations. The report also notes that earlier reported BCB is chalking out a plan to tour Nepal in 2027 after the Nepal Cricket Association invited them.
