The Emirates Golf Federation is set to host the opening event of its 2026-2027 monthly tournament series for UAE nationals this Sunday at Abu Dhabi Golf Club. The competition features a diverse field of 84 male and female golfers, spanning various age groups and experience levels.

This event serves as the cornerstone of the federation’s annual agenda, designed to provide consistent competitive exposure for local players. By offering a regular tournament circuit, the federation aims to boost the technical proficiency of participants and nurture emerging talent within a structured, competitive environment. Helping them improve their technical readiness and develop their skills, it marks the launch of the federation’s programme aimed at providing regular competitive opportunities for golfers of all ages and abilities.

Major General (Retd.) Abdullah Al Sayed Al Hashemi, President of the Emirates Golf Federation, emphasized that the series is central to the organization’s mission of broadening the sport’s reach. He noted that the programme creates a vital space for discovering new players and refining the skills of those already active in the game, while fostering a healthy spirit of competition.

Beyond the competition itself, the tournament will facilitate a unique bridge between generations. Current participants will be joined by federation board members and pioneers who were instrumental in the early development of golf in the UAE. Al Hashemi highlighted that the interaction between these veterans and the younger generation is invaluable for the sport’s ongoing growth and historical continuity. The tournament reflects the continued growth of golf in the country and the federation’s commitment to preserving the sport’s achievements and building on them throughout the new season.

The federation president also extended his appreciation to the Abu Dhabi Golf Club for serving as the host venue. He underscored that collaborative efforts with such partners are essential to the successful delivery of federation initiatives, which remain focused on elevating the standard of golf in the UAE and increasing the sport’s visibility both domestically and on the global stage.
