Bangladesh High Performance Unit head coach Mohammad Salahuddin emphasized the importance of mental support for Aliss Al Islam following the bowler’s citation for a suspect action. Aliss was reported during the recent Tri-Series match against Afghanistan in the United Arab Emirates. As the bowler prepares for a mandatory assessment at an ICC-accredited laboratory within the next 14 days, the Bangladesh Cricket Board has tasked Salahuddin with overseeing his preparation. Reports indicate that the board intends to send the player to Chennai for this official evaluation. According to bangladesh High Performance Unit head coach Mohammad Salahuddin, On Wednesday (October 28) that he was hopeful Aliss Al Islam would rectify his suspect bowling action, but stressed that remodelling it would serve lit. Understands that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has asked Salahuddin to work with Aliss ahead of his assessment at an International Cricket Council (ICC)-accredited laboratory, which he is required to underg.

Reflecting on the psychological weight of such incidents, Salahuddin noted that emotional stability is currently more critical than technical adjustments. He expressed regret that his commitments with other teams have limited the time he could personally dedicate to Aliss over the past two days. According to the coach, the prospect of being sidelined from cricket is a significant burden for any athlete, making it a moral obligation for the support staff to provide comprehensive encouragement during this difficult transition. I feel very bad for the last two days because since I am practicing with another team I am not able to give him time.

Despite his optimism regarding Aliss’s progress, Salahuddin highlighted a significant challenge in the remodeling process: ensuring the bowler retains his competitive edge. He warned that fixing a bowling action is ultimately futile if the player loses the effectiveness that made him successful in the first place. Referencing former bowler Abdur Razzak as a rare example of someone who successfully modified his technique without losing potency, Salahuddin underscored the dual responsibility of maintaining both the bowler’s skill level and his confidence.

“I am seeing his progress and I am very hopeful that he will fix it soon,” the coach stated. “We have to keep two things in mind: ensuring that he retains his effectiveness and that he remains mentally strong.” The coach remains cautiously optimistic that Aliss will navigate these technical and emotional hurdles successfully to return to the field as a better, more refined player.
