Former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley Returns To AEW TV After 62 Days

Bobby Lashley made his much-anticipated return to All Elite Wrestling television after a two-month absence. The former WWE Champion stepped back into the ring on AEW Collision, competing in his first match in 62 days. This was spoiled on social media as the tapings took place last Wednesday after the live episode of Dynamite.

Throughout 2026, The Hurt Syndicate experienced prolonged inactivity without major storylines or championship feuds. Their previous activity included a brief rivalry with The Demand alongside Chris Jericho and an encounter with Shane Taylor Promotions. They have not been booked for a title feud or even a major storyline.

Lashley had been absent from television since August, when he wrestled on the Zero Hour pre-show at AEW All In: Wembley. During that event, he teamed with Shelton Benjamin and Boom & Doom to defeat Shane Taylor and his crew, though MVP was absent due to visa complications. Interestingly, MVP wasn’t at the pay-per-view to accompany them due to visa issues.

The group staged their comeback during AEW Collision in a two-on-three handicap bout against Griff Garrison, Aaron Solo, and Nick Comoroto, with MVP standing at ringside. The one-sided matchup allowed Lashley and Benjamin to showcase their offense before Lashley secured the win with a powerful spear on Solo. And even urged the two veterans to get more offense in, the fans completely enjoyed seeing them in their element.

It remains unconfirmed whether this appearance signals a permanent return to weekly programming or another brief run. While the faction previously stated a lack of interest in AEW championship titles, their return in top form leaves room for potential changes. But could this change now that they are back and in good form, they have expressed their disinterest in AEW championship gold.
