The Netherlands have named former Australia international Ashley Noffke as their new men’s head coach on an initial two-year contract that extends through the end of 2028. Noffke steps into the role to replace Ryan Cook, who is stepping down to spend additional time with his family. The 49-year-old Australian’s immediate focus will center on guiding the squad through the qualification pathways for the 2027 ODI and 2028 T20 World Cups.

Noffke brings extensive playing credentials to the dugout, having represented Australia alongside stints with Queensland, Western Australia, and English counties Durham, Middlesex, Gloucestershire, and Worcestershire. He also featured for Royal Challengers Bangalore during the inaugural Indian Premier League match in 2008. He concluded his first-class career with 3,766 runs and 386 wickets, becoming just the third Australian to record a season double of 500 runs and 50 wickets—an achievement that secured him State Player of the Year honors.

Following a stint leading Otago’s men’s program in New Zealand, Noffke joined the Pakistan men’s setup in 2025 as assistant coach and bowling lead.

Expressing enthusiasm for the appointment, Noffke emphasized that building strong personal connections would form the foundation of his strategy with the Dutch squad.
