The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2027 player auction will take place on October 28 in Kochi, Kerala. A total of 146 players have registered to compete for 27 remaining roster spots, which include 20 positions reserved for Indian cricketers and seven for overseas talent. Sophia Dunkley and Sophie Molineux have entered the auction pool at the highest base price slab of INR 50 lakh, followed by G Kamalini, Kiran Navgire, Heather Graham, and Jess Jonassen at INR 40 lakh.

The remaining tiers include 30 players at a base price of INR 30 lakh, such as Grace Harris, Chamari Athapaththu, Chloe Tryon, and Sneh Rana. Additionally, four players have set their reserve price at INR 20 lakh, while the largest group of 106 players is listed at INR 10 lakh. The overall pool features 119 Indian participants—comprising 22 capped and 97 uncapped players—alongside 27 overseas athletes, including six representatives from Associate Nations.

Team rosters have seen significant shifts ahead of the bidding. Gujarat Giants retained 15 players while parting ways with four, including Danni Wyatt-Hodge. Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru released four players, notably Harris. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians kept 11 of their squad members and Delhi Capitals retained 13, with the latter releasing six players including Lizelle Lee and Rana.

UP Warriorz enters the auction with the most flexibility, holding a purse of INR 3.75 crore and looking to fill eight vacant slots after releasing nine players, among them Deandra Dottin, Tryon, and Navgire. Additionally, Delhi Capitals traded Tara Norris to Mumbai Indians for INR 10 lakh to finalize their preparations for the event. Leaving them with the largest purse (INR 3.75 Crore) and most slots (8) to fill ahead of the auction, they also traded Tara Norris to MI for INR 10 lakh.
