UEFA announced on Sunday that Paris St Germain winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been named the Champions League Player of the Season. The 25-year-old was instrumental in leading the French side to consecutive European titles, culminating in a penalty shootout victory over Arsenal on Saturday after the final concluded 1-1 following extra time.
Throughout the campaign, Kvaratskhelia recorded 10 goals and six assists. His impact was particularly evident in the final, where he earned the decisive second-half penalty that allowed PSG to level the score. Alongside his individual accolade, Kvaratskhelia was named to the official team of the season, joined by PSG teammates Ousmane Dembele, Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes, and Vitinha, the latter of whom earned player of the match honors in the final.
Arsenal also saw three players—David Raya, Gabriel, and Declan Rice—included in the team of the season. Meanwhile, Real Madrid received individual recognition as Arda Guler was named the Revelation of the Season. Additionally, his teammate Federico Valverde secured the goal of the season award for his impressive flick and volley, which completed his hat-trick during Madrid’s victory over Manchester City in the last 16.
PSG beat Arsenal on penalties to defend their European crown on Saturday after the game ended 1-1 following extra time.
