Galatasaray are reportedly launching a late-window bid to sign Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, according to the Daily Telegraph. The Turkish club is prepared to offer a total package worth €50 million for the 31-year-old midfielder, consisting of a €35 million fixed fee supplemented by €15 million in performance-related add-ons. Despite the player recently signing a new contract at Old Trafford, the Istanbul-based side is eager to test the Premier League club’s resolve before the transfer window closes.
The proposed deal includes a complex structure of incentives. Galatasaray would pay €1.5 million for each Super Lig title victory, capped at a maximum of €6 million. Further financial benefits for Manchester United include €2 million if Fernandes finishes as the league’s top assist provider in his debut season, or €1.5 million should he achieve the feat in his second year. Additional clauses involve payments of €1 million for each Champions League qualification, €1 million for reaching the Round of 16, and €3.5 million for advancing to the quarterfinals.
Financially, Galatasaray is prepared to significantly increase the Portugal international’s current salary. Reports indicate that the club is willing to double his existing weekly earnings of £200,000. Despite this aggressive pursuit, Manchester United remains firm in its stance, with the club reportedly unwilling to entertain a sale and prepared to reject all incoming bids for their captain.
Fernandes previously held a €65 million release clause that expired earlier this summer, during which time he was heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League. Although he admitted that Manchester United had been open to selling him last summer—reportedly to Al-Hilal—he chose to remain in England. While Saudi clubs maintain a long-term interest in the midfielder, they have yet to formalize a new approach, leaving Galatasaray as the primary suitor currently attempting to lure him away from the Premier League. The report also notes that the Turkish champions are keen to bolster the squad and are ready to offer €50 million for Fernandes.
