Tottenham Hotspur have bolstered their attacking options by signing Egypt international Omar Marmoush from Manchester City. The 27-year-old moves to north London on a season-long loan deal that includes an obligation for the club to make the transfer permanent next summer.
Marmoush arrives at Spurs following an 18-month tenure at Manchester City, where he recorded 16 goals across 62 appearances in all competitions. During his time at the Etihad, he contributed to the club’s Carabao Cup and FA Cup successes last season. Reflecting on the move, the forward stated, “It feels amazing to be here. I’m so excited to get started with the team and I can’t wait to meet the fans.”
The forward initially joined Manchester City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025. He quickly adapted to English football, notably scoring a hat-trick in a 4-0 win against Newcastle United in February 2025 and earning the Premier League Goal of the Season award for his effort against Bournemouth.
Spurs head coach Roberto De Zerbi expressed his enthusiasm for the arrival, noting that Marmoush embodies the ambition and hunger required at the club. “He brings pace, intelligence and a real threat in front of goal, and I believe he can take our attacking play to another level,” De Zerbi said. Marmoush added that he was drawn to the project at Tottenham and felt a strong connection after speaking with the manager.
The Cairo-born player began his professional journey at Wadi Degla before moving to Germany to join Wolfsburg in 2017. His development included loan spells at St Pauli and Stuttgart, followed by a productive stint at Eintracht Frankfurt, where he tallied 37 goals and 20 assists in 67 outings.
On the international stage, Marmoush has been a mainstay for Egypt since his 2021 debut. He has earned 55 caps, scoring 11 goals, and played a role in the Pharaohs’ run to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations final. Having represented his nation in three editions of that tournament, he also made his World Cup debut this past summer. The report also notes that if not the world, and the project was very attractive to me, tottenham Hotspur is one of the biggest clubs in England. The report also notes that i’ve spoken with the Head Coach, I loved what he had to say and I’m sure our passion for the game will go very well together. The report also notes that hungry and determined to make a difference,” De Zerbi said, omar is exactly the kind of player we want at this club – ambitious.
