Aston Villa have finalized an agreement to acquire West Ham defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The 28-year-old DR Congo international, who has previously played for Manchester United and Crystal Palace, is set to join the club on an initial loan arrangement that includes an obligation to make the transfer permanent at the conclusion of the season.
The defender has been granted leave to travel to the Midlands to undergo a medical examination. Wan-Bissaka has been absent from the Championship side’s opening two fixtures of the current campaign as these transfer discussions progressed.

Despite these high-profile sales, Villa currently maintain the lowest net spend in the Premier League, calculated at roughly £110m when accounting for player exits. The club has bolstered its squad with the signings of midfielders Johan Manzambi and Joao Gomes, alongside the arrival of Chelsea winger Alejandro Garnacho on a loan-to-buy agreement and the addition of young center-back Modou Keba Cisse.
