Lawrence has since justified his selection by delivering consistent performances. Speaking to Test Match Special, Vaughan praised the decision to include him, stating, “I think it is a really good selection.” He added that Lawrence would likely enjoy a productive period in the England lineup, noting, “I think in time his off-spin will come in very handy indeed.” The report also notes that lawrence battles dismal weather conditions to score an impressive 50.
