Australian golf standout Min Woo Lee is set to make his professional debut in India, joining a star-studded field for the second edition of the DP World India Championship. The tournament is scheduled to take place at the Delhi Golf Club from October 15 to 18.
Lee, a fan favorite, will compete alongside a roster of global talent, including defending champion Tommy Fleetwood, Career Grand Slam winner Rory McIlroy, and 2026 Open Champion Ryan Fox. Reflecting on his upcoming appearance, the Perth native expressed his enthusiasm for the event, noting his love for international competition and his eagerness to experience the atmosphere in India for the first time.
Since turning professional in 2019, Lee has built an impressive resume. He secured his first DP World Tour title at the 2020 ISPS HANDA Vic Open and has since claimed two additional victories, including a Rolex Series win in Scotland. Last season, he achieved a significant milestone by winning the Texas Children’s Houston Open, where he outperformed top-ranked players such as Scottie Scheffler and Major champion Gary Woodland. His experience includes representing Australia at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games and competing for the International team at the 2024 Presidents Cup.
Launched in 2025 by the DP World Tour and logistics provider DP World, the championship offers a $4,000,000 prize fund, the largest ever for a DP World Tour event in India. The tournament is co-sanctioned with the DP World Professional Golf Tour of India and serves as the eighth of nine events in the “Back 9” phase of the 2026 Race to Dubai, leading into the season-ending play-offs in November at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai.
The tournament’s field is bolstered by a strong lineup of Major winners and Ryder Cup stars, including Shane Lowry, Justin Rose, Luke Donald, and Viktor Hovland, alongside prominent Indian golfers such as Shubhankar Sharma and Anirban Lahiri.

He noted that the participation of elite athletes like Lee elevates the tournament’s profile and serves to inspire the next generation of Indian golfers.
Beyond professional competition, the initiative reflects DP World’s broader sporting footprint in India, which includes partnerships with the Delhi Capitals and grassroots programs like the “Balls for Birdies” campaign and the Second Life Container initiative. These efforts utilize the company’s logistics network to donate equipment and increase accessibility to the sport.

By building on the success of established events like the Hero Indian Open, the tournament continues to drive momentum for the sport across the region, fostering both professional excellence and wider public participation.
