Major champion Patrick Reed has confirmed his participation in the DP World Tour Championship, scheduled for November 12-15 at Jumeirah Golf Estates. The American enters the tournament as the leader of the Race to Dubai Rankings Delivered by DP World, a position he has held for over seven months following an exceptional start to his 2026 campaign. Having moved to the top in February after a blistering start to his year, the 36-year-old has sat atop the Rankings for more than seven months.
Reed’s strong season includes a four-shot victory at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic in January and a two-stroke win at the Qatar Masters just two weeks later. These performances earned the 2018 Masters champion his fourth and fifth DP World Tour titles, respectively. Currently ranked World Number 29, he aims to become the second American to finish as the European Number One, following in the footsteps of 2021 champion Collin Morikawa.
Reflecting on his return to the Earth course for his eighth tournament appearance, Reed noted the significance of the venue. “Dubai is where the season really got going for me, so it would be pretty cool to finish it there with the Harry Vardon Trophy,” he said. “I’ve played the DP World Tour Championship a bunch of times over the years, so I know the golf course pretty well and what it takes to get it done there. There are some really good players behind me, and that’s what makes the DP World Tour so competitive. You know you’re going to have to play well right to the end.”
The competition remains intense as Reed defends his lead against a talented field, including three-time event winner Rory McIlroy, who is chasing an eighth Race to Dubai title. The top five contenders also feature 2026 US PGA Championship winner Aaron Rai, Open Champion Ryan Fox, and Eugenio Chacarra, all looking to challenge for the crown in Dubai.
Now in its 18th year, the championship serves as a major sporting and social fixture in Dubai. Event organizers are offering free entry on November 12 with prior registration. Spectators have various viewing options, including the returning 1st Tee Experience, which provides a dedicated area for viewing opening shots. High-end hospitality options include the Championship Chalet on the 18th green and the Earth Lounge on the 16th, both offering premium catering and refreshments. The Earth Lounge provides a more relaxed setting to watch the closing stages unfold, with food served throughout the day and free-flowing drinks in the afternoon, on the 16th green.
Beyond the professional competition, the Championship Village is designed for families and fans. The area features sports activations, big screens, trick-shot demonstrations, free golf coaching, and dedicated children’s zones. The event schedule also highlights Ladies Day on Saturday followed by Family Day on Sunday to round out the festivities.
