Cricket West Indies (CWI) has officially announced the departure of head coach Shane Deitz following a three-year stint leading the women’s national team. Both parties reached a mutual agreement to separate as Deitz’s contract concluded on October 31, 2026. Deitz’s contract with the board came to an end on October 31, 2026 and it was mutually agreed to part ways.
Reflecting on the tenure, CWI Director of Cricket Miles Bascombe credited Deitz with elevating the team’s performance, noting that he led the squad to semi-final appearances in consecutive ICC Women’s T20 World Cups in 2024 and 2026. Bascombe stated that Deitz established a new standard for the group and acknowledged his decision to move on, adding that both sides agreed a clean transition was in the team’s best interest.
Former West Indies men’s Test head coach Andre Coley will assume leadership duties on an interim basis, starting with the upcoming series against Pakistan. Bascombe praised Coley’s broad experience within the West Indies system, noting his recent work with the Men’s A-Team, and emphasized that his appointment ensures a seamless preparation period for the players as they look toward their next international assignment. He will work alongside the existing support staff.
