Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, the experienced left-arm spinner who has been a cornerstone of Saurashtra cricket for 13 years, is departing the state. The 36-year-old, who is not related to Ravindra Jadeja, has secured a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) and is expected to join Chhattisgarh for the forthcoming domestic campaign. Over his career, Jadeja has played 100 first-class matches, 90 List A games, and 73 T20s. His departure follows discussions with team management regarding his role, specifically concerning his desire to remain active in white-ball formats, whereas the SCA preferred he focus primarily on red-ball cricket.
Jadeja leaves behind an impressive legacy, having been a key member of the Saurashtra squads that clinched the Ranji Trophy in the 2019-20 and 2022-23 seasons. He has amassed 423 wickets in first-class cricket, and since the 2017-18 season, he has been the most prolific bowler in the Ranji Trophy, claiming 293 wickets. Reflecting on his exit, an SCA official stated, “We wish him the best.”
In other transfer news, Odisha has strengthened its roster by recruiting two professionals for the upcoming season. Lalit Yadav, a 30-year-old seamer from the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA), and Ninad Rathva, a 27-year-old all-rounder from the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA), have both received their NOCs. An official from the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) confirmed that both players have been signed to bolster the team’s professional lineup.
The domestic circuit is seeing further movement as well. Fast bowler Rajneesh Gurbani has made a return to his home state of Vidarbha following a one-season stint with Maharashtra. Additionally, Shashank Singh has completed a transfer from Chhattisgarh to represent Puducherry. These player movements have been formally verified by their respective state cricket associations as teams finalize their preparations for the new season.
