Aaryavir Sehwag, son of Indian batting legend Virender Sehwag, has earned his maiden India U19 call-up for the upcoming three-match One-Day series against Australia in Rajkot this September. A right-handed batter, Aaryavir recently represented the West Delhi Lions in the 2026 Delhi Premier League, where his aggressive strokeplay drew comparisons to his father. He earlier made headlines during the 2024 Cooch Behar Trophy by smashing 297 against Meghalaya.
Squad Selections and Leadership
Wicketkeeper Anvay Dravid has retained his spot in the One-Day squad following an impressive 87-run knock during the U19 team’s tour of Sri Lanka in July. Notably, neither Aaryavir nor Anvay were selected for the two Multi-Day fixtures. Opener Lakshya Raichandani will captain the One-Day side, with Yashbardhan Chauhan serving as deputy; the pair will swap roles for the Multi-Day matches.
